Myself and one other fellow getting into the social enterprise mentality at one of our early brainstorming sessions!

Amy Watson: Bangalore, Karnataka, India; A British MA graduate, I have lived in India since July 2011 working with private schools and social enterprises in low income communities. Last year I undertook the IDEX Fellowship programme where I worked in Hyderabad for a year in an affordable private school helping them to build a number of school improvement programmes including spoken english, teacher training, careers development and special needs. Much of this blog recounts this experience. This year, as Field Coordinator of the new IDEX chapter in Bangalore, I manage the 19 new fellows in this city whilst they undergo their placements. My interests lie in trying to understand the ways in which private sector organisations in India can address local needs through using design and innovation to implement sustainable and scalable solutions.
